Here's one of the world's mos coveted and acclaimed vintage bikes: the Brough Superior SS100. Jay Leno has it (seems only natural) and some museums, too. Big difference is that Leno is still riding it from time to time, and even if he thinks that this is one of the most beautiful motorcycles ever made, he's not afraid to ride it really hard.
The SS100 got it's name as George Brough guaranteed that each of the Superiors could do 100 mph (160 km/h). This speed is even more striking as we consider that Leno's bike is a n 1930 model: Jay adds that one could effortlessly break modern-day speed limits aboard the Brough Superior SS100, as the bike has been design for fast riding.
It looks like riding the Brough Superior SS100 is indeed really fun: a liter-class v-twin with a ton of character, manual 3-position shifter, anual advance and retard, decompression lever and additional oil pump, oilers for both chains... and extremely bad brakes.
We are just as confuse on the speedometer and laughed our faces off as Leno told that whatever a Brough Superior SS100 rider would no, looking at the speedo is the easiest, fastest way to get killed in a bike crash.
