Right before we start passing judgement on this, we should definitely say that the circumstances that led to this dubious incident are unknown, and we should proceed with caution, so to speak.
Even with so many pieces of the puzzle missing, we can say that the driver will most likely be in a lot of trouble when thins whole thing catches up with him, pun intended. The pun being that, reportedly, the Florida Highway Patrol actually caught him only miles from this disturbing scene.
There is no info as to what the charges are, but as we can bet that the prosecutor and judge have already seen the footage after the jump. From aggravated assault and leaving the site of the crash, to assault using a deadly weapon, attempted murder and so on, the lawyers will most likely have fun sorting this out.
Unlike in the case of Alexian Lien and the "Manhattan Brawl" these riders don't appear to be threatening in any way, so it would be truly interesting to learn what caused this fellow to intentionally smash into one of them and run the bike over before fleeing. We're no prosecutors, but it doesn't look like "legitimate defense" would stand in the court.
We're thrilled to see that neither the rider nor the passenger on the bike that was run over was injured to the degree we feared they would. In the first place, watching the car treading over the flipped bike, we feared that the rider or at least one of his feet were trapped and crushed under the motorcycle.
We were relieved to see both guys standing up and reportedly not having sustained any serious injuries. At the end of the video we can see the rider reaching to his back in a way that resembles a man reaching for a gun, but that again is only a speculation...
