We know you’ve heard all sorts of metaphors used to describe the original M3 but trust us when we tell you you’ll want to check this one out. We’ve rarely seen a car like this one, no matter how new or old it was.
Belonging to a man that also owns a BMW E90 M3 and a BMW M6 Gran Coupe, this Alpine White BMW E30 M3 was brought in to the European Auto Shop shop to get some well deserved TLC. The end result, we’re pretty sure, took even the owner by surprise so stay tuned to see what was changed and what was improved.

The tech bits

The original engine was no longer cutting it in terms of power so the guys had to take care of the brilliant S14 unit hiding under the bonnet. Therefore, they went with a stroker to increase the displacement up to 2.5-liters therefore keeping the car’s character intact as well as its throttle pedal responsiveness (no superchargers needed here, thank you!).

Of course, that extra grunt had to be taken care of with a new intake to bring the necessary amount of air to the combustion chambers and a new exhaust system to take the extra fumes out to the back of the car. For the former, carbon fiber was used while the exhaust is made from stainless steel.

With new power comes new responsibility, so a new suspension and new brakes became mandatory. For keeping the car better in check, new coilovers, camber plates, polyurethane bushings and front/rear anti roll bars were installed.

As for the brakes, Brembo was the brand of choice, as we expected. Rear cross-drilled rotors and stainless steel should do the trick.

The interior

That’s only part of the story though. Step inside and you’ll be amazed of how good can a 30-year old car look today. Of course, it’s all brand new but still, even by today’s standards, I wouldn’t be ashamed to ride around town in this beauty.

The cabin received a pair of Recaro Speed seats that were reupholstered with a beautiful combination of brown leather and suede done by the guys from Top Stitch. Other new bits and pieces include a fresh instrument cluster, steering wheel, shift knob and Awron DGA gauge in one of the air vents.

The exterior

The body of this M3 is beautifully spiced up without stepping out of line either. You’ll notice the new DEPO Euro Elipsoid smiley headlights with apexcone HID conversion, the DTM carbon fiber EVO lip splitter and rear wing, as well as the HRE 501 wheels and matte black kidney grilles.

There are a lot more details included but we’ll let you discover them all in the photo gallery. Enjoy!
