Back in 2012, MG Motor UK announced they had signed two-time touring car champion Jason Plato to spearhead their 2-car assault on the BTCC. However, the famous Fifth host Gear made a decision to leave team MG KX Momentum Racing (run by Triple Eight) and look for other opportunities.
His place has been taken up by the much younger driver Andrew Jordan, who's also a rallycross specialist. The 2013 champion left the family-run team Eurotech Racing to return to Triple Eight, the team with which he contested the 2009 season in a Vauxhall Viectra sedan.

Jordan left Eurotek, the team run by his father Mike, where at the wheel of a Civic he earned 14 victories and 39 podium finishes. He is also backed by Red Bull Motorsports and pilots one of their Fiesta thrill cars.

"I'm excited to work with the team and see if we can make gains in certain areas, turn the weaker circuits into strong ones. It all comes down to the little gains and attention to detail. There's a program to start testing in February. It's a FWD touring car, which I've been driving for seven years. The same principles apply," said Jason in an interview with autosport.com.

The 25-year-old from Sutton Coldfield previously raced in the Ginetta Championship, the SEAT Cupra Championship and the Renault Clio UK cup.

During 2014, Jason came 2nd overall in the BTCC, behind the eBay BMW 1 Series driven by Colin Turkington. Andrew Jordan took 5th place.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
