I don’t know what you understand from this Japanese Toyota ad, but for me it looks like they want to make you associate the new Alphard van with the legendary 2000GT sportscar from the 60’s.
So, there’s this classy guy with a very nice home and a pure white Toyota 2000GT standing in one of the rooms, which appears to be the garage. The music is playing and you’d expect the young fellow to get in the sports coupe and take it for a spin.
But no, instead he pushes a button and the classic car starts to lift on a special elevator, while a white Toyota Alphard comes from the storage underneath. And that’s the car he choses to ride in...
Oh, come on Toyota, this is as misleading as the Toyota Auris androgynous ad! We like the Alphard, but who would chose that instead of a classic rare 2000GT?
