Japanese Car Manufacturers Top Europeans in Matter of Reliability

When most drivers have to decide between a European or a Japanese car manufacturer, a high percent will lean towards European manufacturers. In fact a recent study by Warranty Direct revealed that Europeancars are more likely to fail more often than Japanese ones. The study also shows that Far Eastern car manufacturers placed themselves on the top 10 places in the reliability league table of cars aged three to eight years old.

At the bottom of the list lies the 2002 registered Range Rover, with the most faulty cars (56%) over a period of 12 months, leaving this way their owners with an average GBP 517.88($845.28)service bill. On the other hand Honda Jazz managed to take the first place with only 8 percent, and the cumulative service bill for one car was approximately GBP 215.21($351.27).

“Car buying is a tricky business, but all most people want is hassle-free motoring. While our study is the most comprehensive of its kind, we won't see robust data on the very latest cars to be launched. We'll have to wait around three years for that - nobody has a crystal ball to assess cars launched recently."Warranty Direct Managing Director, Duncan McClure Fisher was quoted as saying by glassgiude.co.uk.

According to the study, 55 percent of Land Rovers needed repairs over a period of of 12 months, a higher percentage than Afla Romeo’s 46 percent. Worth mentioning the fact that fewer than 1 in 10 Hondas needed repairs, while Toyota came in second on the reliability league table with 14 percent cars which needed repairs and 1 percent lees than Suzuki which managed to “win” the third place.
