The Japanese tuning industry has a habit of developing aggressive body kits and unique shapes. The guys at Fairy Design would hate to make an exception and developed a wide body kit for the Mercedes-Benz CLA.
The Fairy Design kit for the Mercedes-Benz CLA is the most aggressive exterior tuning kit that the German sedan has received so far. The package consists of a front lip spoiler, a rear diffuser, a trunk lid spoiler and a set of massive over fenders. While some modifications are reversible and bolt-on, the over fenders by Fairy Design cannot be taken off without a visit to the body shop for extensive repairs.
That means that adding the over fenders is irreversible because they require chopping both the front and rear fenders. The extensive parts are not applied in a way that they look like they were there from factory, as they are visibly bolted on to the CLA's body.
We do admire the fact that the tuners managed to follow the car's natural body lines on their wide-body kit and haven't strayed excessively from the original profile of the car. As much as one can say this about a car that received a wide-body kit.
The styling package costs 600,000 Yen in Japan, and customers can specify some parts of the kit made out of carbon fiber. There's no word about any performance enhancements for the CLA from the guys at Fairy Design. As its name states, the company is specialized in design kits and not in performance modifications. Thankfully, the Mercedes-Benz CLA can be tuned by other companies, most of them focused on the German brand, such as Brabus and many others.
For the complete look, customers can choose a gorgeous set of alloy wheels and a sports suspension that lowers the ride height. When it comes to the overall look of this tuned Mercedes-Benz CLA example, opinions may vary, but we can't say this is the best option for the German sedan.
