Dubai is becoming more than just a market for exotic cars. The country is developing its own eccentric automobile industry. Today, it’s time to learn about Dubai’s latest manufacturer, Jannarelly Automotive.
The company was founded by two guys, Anthony Jannarelly and Frederic Juillot. The new car brand plans to launch its first model, the Design-1, in 2016 and should start production in April.

Unlike other cars designed in Dubai, the Jannarelly hails from a different age, reminding us of British roadsters of the 1960s. In case you find the name slightly familiar, Anthony Jannarelly is the lead designer of W Motors Supercars, the creator of the Fenyr. His business partner is the owner of a company specialized in carbon fiber parts, called Equation Composite.

So, what is a Jannarelly Design-1 anyway? It’s a customizable two-seat roadster with rear-wheel-drive.

The car is fitted with a naturally aspirated V6 engine of the Nissan VQ series, mounted on an MIG-welded steel tubular frame with a chassis made of structural aluminum panels. The body is either made of fiberglass with carbon fiber parts or in a full-on carbon fiber version. The 3.5-liter engine has been modified to provide 304 HP and 371 Nm to the 6-speed transverse manual transmission and its limited slip differential.

Jannarelly Design-1 has an estimated 0-100 km/h acceleration time of four seconds and an alleged top speed of 220 km/h. The car only weighs 710 kilograms (unspecified if dry).

The length of the body is of 3,860 mm, width is 1,840 mm, height is only 1,080 mm, and the wheelbase measures 2,425 millimeters. The front track of the Design-1 has a width of 1,584 mm, while the rear track is wider, sitting at 1,600 mm.

The guys at Jannarelly (this name took us a while to spell properly) will unveil their first prototype in February. Since both founders live and work in Dubai, they will show the car there. But they plan to sell it in Dubai (naturally), Europe, and even in the United States of America.

Buyers must pay a minimum deposit of $5,000 with the order sheet. When the car is four months away from production, the client is expected to pay 40% of its price.

Depending on when the car is ordered and how the build slots are allocated, the buyer might be expected to pay the second installment at the time of order, meaning 50% of the car’s price. The last installment, of 50% of the cost, is expected at the time of delivery.

The first customers of the 30 limited-edition Design-1 will receive their cars in the summer of 2016.

In over fourteen years, he got behind the wheel of several hundred vehicles and in the offices of the most important car publications in his homeland.
