With the third season of The Grand Tour ending and the next one promises to be a much lighter filming load, James May is back to doing low-budget but very entertaining YouTube video.
I don't know what it is about this man. He could just be pealing a potato and people would find it funny because of all the personality and charisma baked in. With a bit of exaggeration, he'd make a great cartoon grandpa.
Together with his co-hosts, James started a project called DriveTribe, which is all about creating small communities of like-minded people. But unlike Hammond or Clarkson, James has also filmed a bunch of reviews, like the one for the Honda Civic Type R we showed you recently.
The Tesla Model S is arguably the most important car of the decade, so a lot more people are going to watch this review. And right off the bat, James May says it's possibly the best muscle car America has ever built. We agree with him on that. While the sedan is technologically very advanced, it never offers that pinpoint precision you'd get in a BMW or Mercedes-AMG model of this price.
The performance is a bit like a muscle car too, just one from another era. Though with all the drag race videos that are out there, you guys probably already know this dual-motor model is insanely fast. On the other hand, the exterior design isn't so special and the artificial leather interior could do with some funky colors. However, there's no getting away from the fact that Tesla's infotainment is amazing, and it has gotten much better to use over the years.
And apparently, the fact that the trunk is super big (plus there's two of them) is really bad. It means you can carry more stuff than you need, which is not good for the environment.
