Because what is staying cool at 62 if it you don't have a brand new plug-in hybrid sportscar? After all, we are talking about one of the greatest James Bond actors, an excellent Irishman who loves his rides classy and fancy. BMW’s green boy may be full of 21st-century technologies, but it doesn’t mean it’s not appealing to Pierce Brosnan's eagerness for speed and style.
In the four James Bond movies Pierce Brosnan starred in between 1995 and 2002, the Irish actor drove plenty of cars. There even was a BMW 7 series he would chase bad guys with, but who would have guessed he is fond of the German automaker in real life too. The actor was on hand to personally collect the keys to his gleaming new BMW i8 after it was delivered at his beach-front residence in Los Angeles, the other day.
Judging by the license plate, the car was bought from an official BMW dealer that also imports the company’s i8, which is quite a deal considering they are still hard to get in the US. Whether he’s experiencing some age crisis or it’s just the eager to stay echo-conscious, we can’t but notice that the BMW i8 fits well with the former James Bond.
We’ve seen Brosnan driving a 2016 Sorento SUV for this year’s Super Bowl ad, and even though he had the James Bond attitude, the car was clearly not his style. In November Man, one of his recent movies, the Irish actor is seen driving a classic Porsche 356, a beauty that seems a lot more appropriate.
Whatever the case may be, we can tell you one thing, the 62-year-old star will have even more heads turning once he’ll hit the road with this puppy. If it happened to us, when we tested it, it sure will with a celebrity of that size.
