Sleepers come in many forms and we’re here now to show you one of the classiest we’ve seen. We’re talking about the original XJ of the late 60s / early 70s, with the retro cat receiving a LSX engine. And a turbo.
We’re talking about a stroked-out 402 cubic inch V8, which uses a 76-mm turbo, with a waste gate that puts on quite a show while doing its job.
While this is one incredibly fast Jaguar XJ, the thing still can’t keep up with some big toys on the drag strip. However, it does manage to steal the attention when it’s taken there, as shown in the clip below.
Please notice that the vehicle looks to have been perfectly restored, with both the exterior and the interior saying “out of the box”. Purists may throw Grey Poupon at this due to the engine swap, but we still find it adorable.
