Not long ago, we caught up with the latest super-saloon project car from Jaguar at the Nurburgring, where it was testing. But today, a report from British magazine AutoExpress states that the XFR-S has already packed its best set of wheels and is on its way to the Los Angeles International Auto Show where it’s going to have its global debut at the end of the month.
Just like the XKR-S coupe and convertible models, this will be get a more powerful engine, as the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 will most likely produce the same 550 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 681 Nm (502 lb-ft) of peak torque. Expect 0 to 100 km/h to go by in 4.6 seconds, and a de-restricted top speed somewhere north of 180 mph (290 km/h).
While the car sounds like a hardcore track machine on paper, Jaguar will likely not sacrifice comfort and refinement to get better lap times than the 560 hp BMW M5, it’s biggest rival.
