Taking inspiration from the ever more frugal BMW range of diesel engines, Jaguar is ready with a sort of EfficientDynamics of its very own now.
The XF four-door saloon now benefits from a 163 horsepower (that’s 163 PS) version of the 2.2-liter turbo diesel that used to make 190 hp. The big news is that the luxury barge ow does a staggering 52.3 mpg UK, which is about 5.4 liters per 100 km. That’s on top of the ultra-low 149 grams of CO2 it emits per kilometer.

The 163 hp model now acts as a base model for the XF range, costing £29,950 in the UK market. Standard kit for the 130 mpg (210 km/h) includes the eight-speed auto, electronic climate control and a touchscreen display.

We’ll probably get to see this one in Geneva, since first deliveries will start in March.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
