With Jaguar announcing the XE compact sports sedan in Geneva, the world now wants to know what the Brits are cooking for what will be their entry-level model. We know have a sketchy rendering of the vehicle to show you.

The image offers us a pretty good idea on how the profile of the XE will look like. This is based on the latest spy photos, so it should be rather accurate. As you can see, Jaguar will keep a balance between a slooping roofline that brings the sporty flavor and the interior height required by the comfort of the rear passengers.

Nonetheless, the rear window flows smoothly into the bootlid, with the XE ending in a eye-catching integrated spoiler. We’ll remind you the Jaguar XE will feature an aluminum monocoque, being the first car in its segment to use this solution.

Upon introducing the XE sedan, the British automotive producer is set to expand the concept, giving us other body styles, such as an estate, a coupe or a convertible

With the XE, Jaguar is set to launch a family of four-cylinder 2.0-liter gasoline and diesel Ingenium engines, which aim to mix “downsizing” with “premium”. For instance, the company aims to have one version that will emit less than 100 grams of CO2 per kilometer.

Performance fans shouldn’t be worried though, as Jaguar will also launch at least one go-fast version of the XE. Expect more than enough HP and a clever rear diff. As usual with Jags, the combination will most likely lead to a lot of sideways time. We shall get the first taste of that in 2015 when the sedan is schedule to arrive.

As far as the pricing is concerned, the Jaguar XE sedan is expected to start at under GBP30,000.
