Jaguar Welcomes Richard Beattie as Vice President of Marketing

Due to the global recession, marketing activities have become less important for many automakers across the world, some of them trying to survive without too much advertising.

However, for Jaguar North America marketing seems to still play a central role so, the luxury car maker has appointed Richard Beattie to the position of Executive Vice President, Marketing and Sales. Beattie, who has a rich marketing experience with luxury brands, will occupy his new position starting with March 2 and will be reporting to Gary Temple, President, Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC.

"I am very pleased to welcome Richard back to the Jaguar Land Rover organization in this executive capacity," said Gary Temple. "Richard's extensive experience with luxury automotive brands will play an incredibly important role in leading Jaguar's marketing and sales team forward in such turbulent times."

Richard Beattie has held various marketing positions within Jaguar. From 2004 to 2007, he was responsible for Marketing and Sales, Land Rover North America and before that, he was Executive Vice President, Marketing and Sales for Jaguar Land Rover North America from 2002 to 2004.

What's more, before joining Jaguar, Beattie worked for Ford Motor Company where he was Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Service for Lincoln Mercury and Vice President of Investor Relations for Ford Motor Company.

"It's an exciting challenge to work once again with Jaguar, with its unique and extensive heritage providing a firm foundation for a very bright future ahead," said Richard Beattie, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Jaguar North America. "Jaguar has a strong and aspirational vehicle line-up moving into 2009; its modern appeal will allow it to compete head to head in the luxury market."

We congratulate Mr Beattie for this appointment and we wish him "Good Luck" as we know he won't have an easy mission this year.
