Jaguar extended the XF saloon for the Chinese market. The length of the car grew by 140 millimeters (5.5 inches), and thus the XFL was born. However, rear legroom has increased by 157 mm (6.1 inches) and knee room was raised by 116 mm (4.5 inches).
The extra space is designed to cater to the particular needs of the Chinese market, a country with many businesspeople who like to be driven in their cars.

While the exterior of the model was not changed dramatically, the interior comes with the latest infotainment system from the Jaguar Land Rover Group, the InControl Touch Pro, which has a 10.2-inch touchscreen. The gauge cluster is fully digital, has a 12.3-inch diagonal, and comes with 3D navigation.

Rear occupants have two 8-inch screens at their disposal, as well as wireless headphones and folding tables. The latter can be used with the screens to watch different multimedia content, while the chauffeur drives them to their destination.

In case the passengers agree to a universal multimedia output, they can enjoy the built-in Meridian Surround Sound System, which uses 17 speakers for an output of 825W. The rear occupants also benefit from massage seats with heating and cooling, four-way lumbar adjustment, and individual window blinds. The cabin comes with an ionization system for the air conditioning.

The extra length of the XFL increased the car’s weight by almost 200 kilograms (440 pounds). Customers can choose between three gasoline engines, and all models come with all-wheel drive as standard, as well as an eight-speed automatic gearbox built by ZF.

The extended wheelbase version of the XF is the first Jaguar model made at the company’s factory in Changshu, China. The facility is constructed with the aid of Jaguar’s local partner, Chery, and it is the first ever purpose-built aluminum body shop in China. The first units will come to market in the second part of this year.
