Jaguar Land Rover engineers have been working overtime for quite some time now, and we're here to discuss the next steps Jaguar will make in its quest for expansion.
The Big Cat is soon expected to change its purring tonality a little bit. As Motor Trend writes, Jaguar will most likely drop its current supercharged 3-liter V6 after 2016, replacing it with a straight six that will most likely by turbocharged.
The blower has always been a key part of the Jaguar driving experience, but stricter emission regulations, as well as the company's entrance on more mainstream segments, means the carmaker needs to increase efficiency.
Turbocharging is superior to supercharging from this point of view, but obviously has its power delivery and aural drawbacks. The first will be addressed with the help of the traditional smoothness delivered by the in-line architecture. The company is now gearing up for the launch of its first crossover, the F-Pace, which will land this fall at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Jaguar is obviously testing the waters here.
