Jaguar is planning on a BMW 3 Series rival soon and with development still in the books, the British seem to know what they really want.
Specific details are yet to be unveiled since the car hasn't been designed, but Jaguar North American CEO Andy Goss agreed to talk about the company's approach.
"I think increasingly… if you want to compete with the Germans, if we're going to live our true brand promise of actually having a car that's very emotionally engaging, driving dynamics is really, really a key. When you drive the F-Type, you'll know all the work the engineers have put in there to make sure it really is a bonified true sports car. Realistically, the same type of process will have to apply to a 3 Series competitor," said Goss.
Trying to recreate BMW driving dynamics is obviously not easy, take the Lexus IS for example, but Goss thinks success can be achieved through design, which "has got to be a benchmark".
