The British car manufacturer announced yesterday evening at the New York International Auto Show that it will send off the XK with a limited-run edition dubbed Final Fifty. As the name suggests, only 50 units will be made.
More exactly, the final production run of Jaguar's grand tourer will consist of 25 coupes and 25 convertibles. Inspired by the final fifty special-edition run of the E-Type from 1974, all vehicles will feature special exterior paint and trim, as well as performance enhancements to the suspension, aerodynamics and powertrain.

Under the hood you'll find the supercharged AJ-V8 Gen III 5-liter V8 from the XKR. Despite its old age, this mill provides a punchy 510 horsepower and 461 lb-ft (625 Nm) of tire-shredding torque available from just 2,500 rpm. Thanks to the relatively light aluminum chassis and body shell, this cat needs only 4.6 seconds to get to 60 mph (96 km/h) from a standing start.

In terms of driving dynamics, the XK Final Fifty Limited Edition borrows the Dynamic and Performance Packs from the hardcore XKR-S and XKR-S GT. Features include a louvered hood, Vortex 20-inch forged wheels, lowered suspension, machined front suspension components with dedicated spring and damper settings and an upgraded Adaptive Dynamics suspension system.

The Ultimate Black exterior paint job contrasts beautifully with the special interior trim. Step inside and you'll be greeted by a special badge on the center console and an inscribed doorsill treadplate, performance seats with ivory white Diamond Sewn stitch pattern over soft grain leather, a Jet Suedecloth-wrapped steering wheel and many other luxury goodies.

The Convertible's triple-lined fabric roof is finished in the same color as the exterior and can be powered up or down in less than 18 seconds at speeds up to 20 mph (32 km/h).

Using the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, the driver or front passenger can access functions for the climate control, navigation system, Bluetooth mobile connectivity and for Jaguar's Portable Audio Interface. The standard Bowers & Wilkins audio system features Kevlar midrange speakers and aluminum tweeters. Both SiriusXM Satellite Radio and HD Radio are also standard.

The 2015 XK Final Fifty Limited Edition will be the last 50 XK models produced for the U.S. market. Instead of a direct succesor, Jaguar plans to replace the XK with a coupe version of the XJ sometime in 2017.
