Jaguar's XFR-S Is Processing

When ready, Jaguar will launch a serious competitor, as they claim, for BMW’s 3 Series. The new model coming from the Brits might be the XFR-S. For quite some time, the British brand has been promoting a series of new technologies that will be used in their future models.

It has been confirmed that a new four-cylinder diesel engine is under development for the XF and an all-wheel-drive version will be available for the XJ model. The XF’s main target is Europe, while the XJ’s main selling terrain is going to be U.S..

Rumor has it that the main competitor for the 3 Series will actually be called the XS. Why the name is so important, we are not sure, but we guess it has something to do with the marketing department at Jaguar’s HQ.

Jaguar's global brand director, Adrian Hallmark, has confirmed the name, but we have some reserves about the actual designation of the car. Hallmark stated that in order to compete against other European luxury marques, it needs to do so on all fronts.

There have been some discussions that made the development of an upgraded XFR possible. The new fast saloon car will be named XKR-S, and all the new upgrades in the car will be transferred to the XF. Consequently, the XF will gladly receive a 550 hp powerplant and will worthily take on its rivals from Germany in the likes of BMW M5 and the Mercedes Benz E63 AMG.

We can’t wait to see when Jaguar will bring to the road its 3 Series rival. Something tells us that we won’t have to wait for very long.
