Jaguar has announced a recall for the 2013 XF model fitted with the 2.0-liter engine over a hose clamp that can come loose and affect the vehicle’s steering and brake assistance.
According to the automaker, if the loose air cooler hose detaches, the engine can stall and cause the car to lose steering and brake assistance, which can increase the chances of a crash. About 940 model year 2013 Jaguar XF sedans are affected, all equipped with the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The vehicles were manufactured from July 2012 through May 2013.
Jaguar will notify owners beginning September 27, and dealers will fix the air cooler hose free of charge. Concerned customer can reach the company at 800-452-4827 or contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) at 888-327-4236.
