Jaguar Promises "Best in the World" BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C-Class Competitor

Jaguar has announced plans to develop a BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C-Class and Audi A4 rival since early 2013, but no one really believes the Indian-owned company stands a chance against the Germans. Except Jaguar, who says it will develop the best compact sedan in the world.

Speaking to Autocar, Jaguar Land Rover strategy boss Adrian Hallmark said the new sedan, which is scheduled for a 2015 launch, will be "the most advanced, most efficient, most refined car in the segment. Not as good as, but better than the best in the world."

Internally known as X760, the sedan will sport an all-aluminum lightweight body, will "look and drive like a Jaguar" and feature "the highest technology that anyone has ever brought to that segment and have the most efficient engine and the most refined feel in its class," added Hallmark.

Well, there's only one thing left to be said. Jaguar is either planning something really big or is just looking to fail at filling the biggest shoes on the market. Now we wait...
