Jaguar Land Rover Bringing a Performance Trio to Pebble Beach

The Special Operations team of Jaguar Land Rover has only been official since June, but the team has definitely been busy creating bespoke, high-performance and heritage products. Examples of each will be on display during the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance with the Range Rover Sport SVR, Jaguar F-Type Project 7 and the Lightweight E-Type prototype all heading to Monterey, CA.

Fresh off just being named the quickest SUV to lap the Nürburgring, the 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR will receive its global debut on August 14th. This Range Rover Sport SVR is powered by a tuned version of the 5.0-liter, which now produces 550 hp. This added power helped the Range Rover Sport SVR lap the Nürburgring in just 8 minutes and 14 seconds. JLR also says that it is the first vehicle to wear the SVR moniker, which ensures more performance-tuned cars and SUVs will be introduced in the future. JLR’s Special Operations will give us our first up-close look at the Lightweight E-Type prototype. Only six of these lightweight aluminum E-Type coupes will be built as a continuation of the 12 cars produced through 1964.

While the big news might be the global debuts of the 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR and Lightweight E-Type prototype, Pebble Beach will also be home to the North American introductions of the F-Type Project 7 and Lightweight E-Type prototype. Like the SVR, the F-Type Project 7 was created by the Special Vehicle Operations team, and it is inspired by the legendary D-Type. The Project 7 uses a similar fairing as the D-Type as well as numerous other aerodynamic changes exclusive to this car. The Project 7 was introduced in June during the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but this will be our first time seeing the car in U.S. spec, although it isn’t clear what changes have been made.

Finally, Land Rover will also have its full lineup of current models on display as well as the duo of “Great Divide” Range Rover SUVs from 1990 and 2014.
