The ever-increasing performance thirst is currently pushing sportscars into what used to be supercar territory not further than half a decade ago and the best proof for this obviously comes from the Nurburgring.
Just earlier today we showed you Mercedes-AMG testing a prototype for the road-going version of the GT3. We are now back on the Green Hell topic to discuss an even more recent sighting, with Jaguar being spied testing what will be the ultimate F-Type. For a while.

While this is not the first time we come across the F-Type SVR, its presence on the 'Ring indicates we are now one step closer to seeing Jaguar showrooms receiving the fastest Jag available.

Jaguar Land Rover have sorted out their performance offerings, all of which are now handled by their Special Vehicle Operations division and these won't stop until the bring the F-Type Roadster's blown 5-liter V8 to around 600 horses.

Right from the V6 S, you can easily notice the F-Type's sideways character, so one might ask himself how the car is going to perform with all that oomph. Well, this big car is expected to work on all four, since the F-Type now offers all-wheel drive.

The SVO engineers will obviously also touch the ZF eight-speed gearbox, the suspension, steering and brakes. Actually, we can see the massive stopping elements through the spokes of the prototype's rims.

Nonetheless, the special badge also means the F-Type will have to lose some weight, as it has already been established that... British aluminum is somehow not all that light.

The sexy jaw and devilish tail are only a part of the visual treatment that's in store for this feline. Expect gaping air intakes and an exhaust that will be nothing short of memorable.

Jaguar is making quite a statement here, since at least until later on the F-Type's life cycle, the 543 hp R Coupe will pass on the "most powerful" title to the Roadster.
