It was 2012 when Jaguar introduced the F-Type to the world. Meanwhile, the Leaping Cat has turned the sportscar into a complete family, with engines ranging from a turbo-four to a blow V8, while both rear- and all-wheel-drive are offered, along with manual and automatic trannies. However, the F-Type could be taken even further.
As you can notice in the Instagram render at the bottom of the page, we are here to discuss the concept of a Jaguar F-Type four-door coupe. And with Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz having already included multiple efforts of the sort in their lineup, the proposal might just make sense.

Of course, the pixel play we have here, while gracious, has its shortcomings. For instance, even with suicide doors providing facile access to the rear seats, the passengers occupying those seats would face serious legroom challenges.

However, Jaguar has confirmed that the F-Type will be replaced in two years from now (the fact that this is not a regular model means it receives a longer life cycle).

And the modular architecture that will underpin the future sportscar might be capable of accommodating more than just two occupants.

Of course, the possibilities for the F-Type replacement are much larger. For instance, the newcomer might serve as the long-expected 2+2 XK replacement. So the British automotive producer may or may not pursue the four-door coupe path. And yes, we too would love to see such a family cat come to life.

Then there's the powertrain matter - the F-Type replacement could receive all-electric propulsion. Jaguar has already tested the EV waters with the help of the I-Pace and we're expecting the Coventry specialist to follow the current trends and come up with a whole range of electron juice sippers.

Meanwhile, we're inviting you to feast your eyes on the styling cues below.
