Jaguar F-Type R Just Being a Loud, Bad Boy on the Streets of Monaco

The classic British elegant sportscar stereotype was getting old, so the Brits desperately needed a hooligan-type go-fast car to change the world's perception.
That car wore the name Jaguar F-Type R and is probably the only production model in Europe capable of winning an acoustic contest with the new Mercedes-AMG models.

As the video below so very clearly shows, the Jaguar F-Type R comes with a V8 engine. It's a 5.0-liter supercharged unit delivering 550 hp, but power isn't very important at this point. Still, let's go through the performance figures just to get them out of the way: 4.1 seconds for the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint for the AWD version and a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h) that is way too round not to be electronically limited.

What we need to focus on are those four relatively small exhaust tips, able to spill out more chaos than pipes three times their size. At a certain point, you can see the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG with the Akrapovic exhaust we've covered earlier, but the guy filming can't be bothered with that. He knows the real treat here is the Jaguar, so he points his camera towards it.

On another instance, we get to compare the sound made by a Ferrari California and the F-Type R in the space of a few seconds. The Italian supercar has a gutted, classy, refrained sound while the Jaguar F-Type sounds like it's on its way home from the stadium and his team had just narrowly lost the championship. It's loud, angry and menacing enough to know better and cross on the other side of the street.

It seems this Top Marques event in Monaco has produced enough footage to last us for a year, as more and more videos appear from all corners of the internet. If they all sound as good as this one, nobody's complaining, that's for sure.
