With the U.S. version of the Jaguar F-Type Project 7 making its big debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance this weekend, Jaguar has finally announced pricing and some additional details for this bespoke roadster. What options could Jaguar possibly have in store for such a limited-production model? While the full breadth of the option list isn’t known, what we do know is that the base price is for cars painted in either Glacier White (shown above) or the signature color, Ultra Blue, of the new Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operation (SVO) team. Reaming colors – British Racing Green, Ultimate Black and Caldera Red – will cost extra.

This car was specially created to pay homage to the legendary Jaguar D-Type, which is 60 years old this year, and the “7” in Project 7 is the number of overall wins that Jaguar has in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. It is powered by a 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 that produces 575 hp, while helping the car accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.8 seconds and hitting a top speed of 186 mph. For comparison, the standard Jaguar F-Type V8 S Convertible uses the same engine but is limited to just 495 and a 0-60 time of 4.2 seconds.

At $165,000, costs exactly $100,000 more than a base F-Type Coupe, and is still $73,000 more than the top-performing F-Type V8 S Convertible. Jaguar has not said how many of these cars it plans to build in total or how many will be earmarked for the U.S.

About three months ago, the JLR’s SVO team didn’t exist, and now it will have three exciting vehicles on display at Pebble Beach. In addition to the F-Type Project 7, the 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR and six Continuation Lightweight E-Type coupes will also be on display.
