Last year, Jaguar used the Frankfurt Motor Show to give us the C-X16 concept, introducing a green vehicle that would be slotted under the XK model and now the company is previewing the production version of the car.
Jaguar tells us that he vehicle will use the F-Type designation and it will come to the market in mid-2013. Customers will receive a convertible version, which will be followed by a coupe one. The company explained that this will be a two-seater and offered us a few photos of the camouflaged prototype.
While the C-X16 Concept came with a hybrid propulsion system that mixed a 380 hp 3.0-liter supercharged V6 with a 95 hp electric motor integrated in an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Jaguar is expected to offer a similar setup in the production version, but it is not clear if this will be available from the launch.
