Jaguar F-Pace S vs. Porsche Macan GTS Drag Race Proves German HP Superiority

The paint on the Porsche Macan is bone-dry, and the German mini-SUV has already built a solid reputation among those that can afford it. However, all the rivals have also had time to figure things out.

While BMW did well, considering how old the architecture of the X3 and X4, the same cannot be said about the Jaguar F-Pace. It's not the F-Type of crossovers like they promised. And this happens despite the all-new aluminum platform. But maybe we are asking too much for their first 4x4 adventure car.

We've just stumbled upon one of those Russian videos where you can't understand a thing they are saying, but it's still worth sharing.

The S version of the F-Pace is the star. It features the same 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine you see in many other Jaguars, from the XE to the XJ. The 380 horsepower is being forced to all four wheels via the wrong kind of gearbox, a normal automatic one.

The Macan GTS is down on power, having only 360 hp. So it shouldn't win the race. But everybody knows Porsche makes surprisingly fast cars, both on the track and in a straight line. And this isn't even the most powerful model, that title belongs to the Turbo.

Of course, the Russians often say that these two are SUVs for wives and mistresses, not real men. And they are right. In isolation, the Macan GTS and Jaguar F-Pace S appear fast. But neither can hold a candle to a Cayenne Turbo or Range Rover Sport SVR.
