The vehicle is powered by a supercharged petrol V6 unit that delivers 380 hp and 450 Nm, which works together with a KERS-like hybrid system that offers on-demand power boosts.

The eight-speed automatic 'box integrates a motor generator that uses juice from a 1.6kWh battery pack located behind the seats. The extra boosts consists of 95 hp and 235 Nm of torque.

As for the performance, the Jaguar C-16 Concept can play the 0 to 62 mph game in 4.4 seconds and offer a top speed of 184 mph (300 km/h).

The Jaguar C-X16 will enter production in both coupe and convertible form, being slotted under the XK series, but we don't have any schedule yet. For the moment, the carmaker is working hard to test the vehicle, as our spy photographers found out.
