If you've enjoyed the look of your new Ford Fusion and are hoping for more of the same, we might have bad news for you. J Mays will retire from his position as Ford Motor Co global design director at the age of 59. He will be replaced by Moray Callum, currently design director for Ford North America.
Mays started his career with Volkswagen, where he worked on cars like the Golf 3 and Polo, but also Audis. In 1997, he moved to Ford where he was placed in charge of eight brands: Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda, Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar, and Aston Martin.

His signature vehicles include the 2012 Focus, 2011 Fiesta, 2010 Taurus and 2013 Fusion.

Moray Callum, Ford's new head of design, was in charge of Mazda in 2001, where he was in charge of the design team that produced the 2007 CX-7 and CX-9 crossovers. Following his successful relaunch of Mazda, Callum was moved back to Ford by J Mays in May 2006.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
