Truckmaker and commercial vehicle specialist Iveco has been awarded by the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership as being the Low Carbon Heavy Duty Vehicle Manufacturer of the Year 2011. The recognition comes as a result of their portfolio of lower carbon technologies including a wide range of natural gas-powered vehicles, together with dedicated electric and hybrid models.
“This is a fantastic award to win as it clearly recognises the breadth of Iveco’s low carbon expertise in the commercial vehicle sector as being second to none. It reflects the fact that Iveco has been investing heavily in alternative fuels since the mid-1990s and that today we offer more alternative fuel vehicles in the European market from 3.5 tonnes and above than any other manufacturer,” said Martin Flach, Product Director at Iveco UK.

The award, sponsored by the Road Haulage Association, was presented at the Low Carbon Champions Awards, held in November at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) in Westminster, London.†

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
