In Brazil, they called it the Toyota Bandeirante, but most of the people probably know it if they traveled in Australia, considering it’s such a popular off-roader out there. As the nostalgic that we sometimes are, when we see one of these puppies, it makes us want to travel. Since Lego made everything from MINIs to Batmobile kits, we say it’s time for the Land Cruiser 40 Series model too.
There are many types of drivers out there, but when it comes to the adventurous sort, they either like their vehicles for speed or off-road capabilities. It’s quite obvious which of the categories this model belongs to. After all, many of these trucks find their home in places with severe road conditions as work trucks, where they are used daily by their owners.

Moreover, Toyota still offers many replacement parts, available through the company’s parts departments worldwide. In other words, even though they stopped making them in 1984, a lot of functional J40 trucks are still out there doing what they know best. That is probably why this brick builder trusts his LEGO Idea may find the light of the day.

Here’s what the kit’s creator has to say about his brainchild.

This model reproduces unique features of the BJ42 - the pinnacle of the 40 Series - such as the triple windscreen wipers of course with perhaps the only thing missing is the zebra-striped pattern on the seats. I also included lots of detail with foot well vents on both driver and passenger sides, the chassis and running gear along with the leaf springs.”
