Italian Voque Chief Editor to Design Custom Purple MINI Roadster

There are cars out there - the MINI, Fiat 500, VW Beetle and so on - that basically live for the special editions. Without the endless customization they are like soulless creatures endlessly searching the nightlife for their cosmetics and garments.

The new MINI Roadster two-seater has barely made it to market, and already we have talk of a custom version. A one-off to be more precise, which will be built under the guidance of ranca Sozzani, chief editor of Italian VOGUE and UN Goodwill Ambassador for Fashion 4 Development.

"I thought at MINI as a beautiful woman who put a scarf on her head when she drives a Roadster," explained Sozzani.

So yes, no man will want to be seen in one... unless he wears a scarf and a dress. Come to think of it, Arabs do love gold and they certainly love purple. And if they want to buy it, they can do so, because the custom one-off will be auctioned off in the Hall of Ceremonies at Vienna’s Hofburg palace as part of the AIDS Solidarity Life Ball gala.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
