It May Be Hard to Believe, But This Huge Pile of Metal Was Once a Gorgeous 1966 Mustang

We’ve all seen what rust can do to a car that’s not stored in the proper conditions, but the 1966 Mustang that someone is trying to sell comes in a shape that’s hard to describe in words.

The once-mesmerizing fastback is now just a big pile of useless metal, and to be honest, it’s pretty difficult to find something good about it.

eBay seller jasper10354 themselves claim this Mustang needs absolutely everything, and in many ways, it actually looks like it needs, well, a new Mustang altogether.

It’s hard to believe anyone can save this fastback, as its condition is clearly beyond recovery. There’s no roof, the front end is completely wrecked, and the only things you’re getting are highlighted in the photos included in our gallery as well.

Probably the only good news, obviously if someone really, really wants to see the glass half-full, is that the Ford Mustang was born as an A-code model. In other words, it rolled off the assembly lines with a 289 (4.7-liter) 4-barrel under the hood, though this engine is obviously long gone now.

It’s hard to imagine how exactly a very desirable classic car ended up in such a poor condition, but there’s a chance that it spent a very long time in storage or right on the side of the road. Most likely, it also served as a donor for another Mustang, and this is the reason it comes without nearly 99 percent of the parts.

In theory, such a useless pile of metal should sell for beer money, but this isn’t necessarily the case here. The owner of this Mustang still expects to make big bucks out of it, so the car is listed for auction on eBay starting at $3,200. It’s hard to believe anyone would be willing to pay that much for this fastback, but we’ll all find out if the “car” is worth that much in approximately 6 days.
