Isuzu and Arctic Trucks have developed the ultimate version of the D-Max.
They call it the D-Max Arctic Trucks 35 and it is a factory-sold and backed pickup truck that comes with 35-inch off-road tires. The rubber shoes are Rotiiva All-Terrain by Nokian, so they mean business.
Other hardware improvements over the standard D-Max include a set of Fox shocks, 17-inch wheels with a 10-inch width, and a lifted ride height (mostly because of the tires). Flared wheel arches have been installed to suit the massive tires.
All UK-spec Isuzu D-Max models come with a 2.5-liter turbodiesel engine which provides 163 HP and 400 Nm, and the vehicle’s payload and towing capacities have remained unchanged. Transmission options include a six-speed manual for both body styles, while the double-cab can be had with a five-speed automatic unit.
The 4x4 system of the pickup truck has not been modified for this particular version. Its capabilities are enhanced with an Arctic Trucks roll bar, a load bay protector, a set of skid plates, an LED work light, and a tire inflator system from ARB.
Customers can order both double and extended cab body styles for the D-Max Arctic Trucks 35, and the two partners have not announced a limited series of this model, so it should be available for a longer period, regardless of sale volumes. Naturally, if it doesn't do well in this part, Isuzu might take it out of the portfolio after a year or so.
The launch of this Isuzu D-Max developed in collaboration with Arctic Trucks marks the first dealer-sold vehicle customized by the off-road specialist which brought the former Top Gear hosts on their famous expedition to the North Pole.
Until now, customers of the famous off-road specialist risked losing factory warranty once they modified their vehicles for off-road, but this D-Max is exempted from such a scenario, as it comes with everything mentioned above with the support of the manufacturer.
