Ever since the second Sport Activity Coupe in BMW’s history was announced last year at Shanghai, everyone started wondering how the new car will look like.
You see, the X4 has a couple of issues to deal with, brought into focus by its forefather, the X6. First of all, it has to keep the same coupe-like overall design. However, on an SUV-type of a car, this poses a problem efficient usage of space.
In the E71 X6, rear passengers would have a really hard time coping with long trips due to the lack of headroom brought by the sloping roofline. If you were over 6 foot tall, you might not like sitting in the back of such a car.
The X4 has to solve this problem. At the same time, it has to be smaller than the X6 so the designers really have their work cut out for them.
A leaked photo seemingly taken out of a French magazine claims to show us the new X4 in all its glory, camo free. The car in the picture seems to be an xDrive20d model, therefore in European spec. The wheels seem brand new and the front fascia is strikingly similar to the one found on the LCI X3.
Is this the new F26 X4? Maybe not, but if the end product ends up looking like this, I wouldn’t be disappointed.
