Is This The 992 Porsche 911 GTS? Prototype Shows New Aero Elements

Walk into a Porsche showroom today asking for a Neunelfer and you'll only be able to choose between four models, namely the Carrera S and Carrera 4S, along with the Cabriolet versions. However, there are plenty of Neunelfer derivatives in the pipeline. After all, the range will end up accommodating north of twenty models at full maturity.
Well, we might be looking at the first spyshots of the 992 Porsche 911 GTS. You know, the model that sits halfway between the Carrera and Zuffenhausen's GT cars, while offering a mix of options for a more reasonable price than the one required by ordering them separately.

At first sight, this might simply pass as a Carrera test car. However, if we focus on the lower side of the machine's posterior, we notice what appear to be diffuser fins.

As you'll notice in the social media post at the bottom of the page, the pic comes from Instagram, but there don't seem to be any further details on the matter.

Sure, it does seem early to talk about the GTS, with deliveries for the Carrera S having only kicked off a few months ago (by the way, here's a review of the 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera S).

Then again, judging by the typical release schedule used by the German automotive producer, we could see the 911 Carrera GTS making its debut in 2021.

In fact, all the model that should sit between the Carrera and the Carrera GTS have already been spied. I'm refering the 911 Turbo (here are sightings of the Coupe and Cabriolet), the 911 GT3 (a Touring Package is once again expected) and even the Targa.

"What about the base Carrera?" I hear you asking. Well, this has already been spotted in the Porsche network, with the entry-level model, if such a label might be used, expected to show up soon.
