Ducati has reported having already sold more than 7,500 1199 Panigale machines in 2012, and despite the fact that we're only 2 weeks short of a full year, there will still be some new customers these days. Taking a good look around and seeing that the world economy is still riding on the downward spiral makes us wonder: does Ducati possess some magic trick to make things go that well when it comes to selling their latest bike?
Panigale isn't a cheap bike and neither is is a traditional one, especially with the new aluminium monocoque chassis. After two years of MotoGP failures with Valentino Rossi riding for the Bologna team, most commentators were not expecting any silver lining for this black cloud.

They were wrong and we've gotten to see expensive and exclusive bikes, such as the Diavel and the 1199 Panigale selling extremely well in the US and in other countries. Already feeling the upwards trend, Ducati charges on and the new bikes they've prepared come with a lot of promise, as well.

To name just one, it will definitely be interesting to keep an eye on how will the 1199 Panigale R fare in 2013, as adding the “Corse” badge to an already hyped bike will surely make hearts beat faster and hands reach for the checkbooks.
