The Dodge Dart four-door compact could get a V6 option in the future, Allpar.com reports quoting company insiders. Chrysler's engine of choice could be the 3.2-liter Pentastar that pumps 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque in the brand new 2014 Jeep Cherokee.
However, a company representative told Auto Guide it has "no knowledge about any other engines for the Dart", adding that the "2.4-liter Tigershark has been very well received by both media and consumers."
The Dodge Dart is currently available with a choice of three engines - the 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo (160 HP / 184 lb-ft), the 2.0-liter Tigershark (160 HP / 148 lb-ft), and the 2.4-liter Tigershark (184 HP / 171 lb-ft). The 2014 Dodge Dart is available in five trim levels with starting prices ranging from $15,995 to $20,995.
