The aftermarket world will be an important part of the upcoming Geneva Auto Show. As the event is almost ready to open its gates, the tuning companies are rushing to offer us a preview of the goodies that will be displayed. One project that captured our attention is the Irmscher i Selectra.

We have to mention that for us, the vehicle stands out, but not in a good way, as we consider this as being a desecration of the 7.Yes, the German tuner eviscerated a 7 and fitted it with an electric drivetrain.

This is not the first time when the company performs such a move, but it doesn’t matter, a seven should remain a seven. Anyway, we'll go on with presenting the vehicle. The two-seater is powered by an electric motor that delivers 238 hp and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. This relies on a lithium-ion-phosphate battery pack, which is located under the vehicle’s floor, in order to lower the center of gravity.

The tuner says that a full charge can last up to eight hours, with a quick charge (this brings the battery to an 80 percent charge status) can be performed in less than one hour. As for the price, this sits at EUR90,000 (USD124,550 at the current exchange rate).

autoevolution will be attending the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
