“MG stands for Morris Garages, which sold Morris cars in Oxford. Originally modifying Morris models, by the 1930s the company was manufacturing the sports cars that would build the Abingdon-based company’s reputation.From those earliest models through to the MGBs in the 1960s and ‘70s, and the TF of the 1990s into the new millennium, there’s something for every MG owner, enthusiast or would-be owner,” explained the press release.
Attending the event can also become an excellent occasion to buy an MG, as the festival will include a lot of vehicles with a “for sale” sticker, with the cars ranging from immaculate to worn-out ones. In addition to that, the show will also include the Pride of Ownership awards, which promise to bring together some of the finest MG vehicles, regardless of their age.
“And if you’re looking for that hard-to-find part, the autojumble and trade stands will have what you’re looking for – from a dashboard switch through to a complete bodyshell. Alongside those parts will be tools, books and models, all showing just how loved the MG name is, getting on for a century after it was founded,” stated the press release.
