Insanely Random act of Gymkhana in Russia

Some consider Gymkhana to be the greatest automotive show on Earth and we are in no mood to disagree with that notion.

In 2013, Ken Block raced his Ford Fiesta ST R43 speed machine through one of the most amazing obstacle courses known to man, featuring helicopters, parked supercars and a couple of bulldozers. With over 20 million Youtube views, Gymkhana 6 is a phenomenon.

We're currently waiting for part 7 to arrive, having already been shot with a custom all-wheel drive Mustang that we spied. However, the Russians are in no mood to wait around and do nothing.

We've just stumbled upon a video which shows a random act of Gymkhana taking place somewhere in Russia… we don't know where and it doesn't really matter. Seemingly out of nowhere, a sedan comes drifting through the dust of a parking lot, fully sideways and looking extremely dangerous. While the official form of motorsport usually features boxes and crates, this driver is aiming straight for an old Lada, which he crashes straight into.

We're not sure what car that is. It could be Russian-spec Nissan Almera or something like that. One thing is for sure, it's definitely not an all-wheel drive Subaru WRX STI or rally-spec Ford Fiesta. Roll cage and full safety harness? In your dreams!

Fast forward to the 1-minute mark to see the magic happen...

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
