Infiniti Turned Their Cars Into House Music Stars

Up until now, we had no idea Infiniti and Ibiza go hand in hand when it comes to music. As odd as this might strike you, it’s true, especially after Infiniti Middle East made their cars sing and recorded them in the process.

We have our doubts that singing Infiniti models would break the international charts or enjoy massive popularity on MTV Music Channel but art has its own twisted ways that few people understand... so they say.

There have been carmakers that recorded the engine sounds produced by their models, put the soundtracks on CDs and then sold them to customers but Infiniti is better than that. There was a lot o brainstorming carried out and the vehicles used to create the tune were selected: the QX80, QX70, QX60 and the Q50 sedan.

After getting all the band members together, Infiniti need music instruments, but that was easy as the chosen cars already had them: “brakes, tire spins, gear shifts, seatbelt clicks, exhaust roars and internal alerts.”

The next step was finding a composer who would work his magic and deliver the final song. That’s where Megadon Betamax steps in.

“It was definitely going to be a challenge. I live and breathe music, but I also love cars [...]. Most people that have heard the track so far don’t believe it’s entirely made from car sound, and that’s what I wanted. I’m proud of this piece,” said Betamax.

The song was named “Chromatic” and it even received an animation video - where every frame is made up entirely of elements of the cars used to create the sound - that will be distributed globally by Universal Music Group.

We just hope you enjoy the audition but we'll give you this: the song is quite catchy, especially if you're into electronic music.
