Infiniti has released a full photo gallery of its latest concept, the QX Sport Inspiration. The exhibit is a concept car that will be presented at this year's Beijing Auto Show, scheduled to start on April 25. The QX Sport inspiration is a premium mid-size SUV, which showcases future design trends that will be applied in the manufacturer's range.
Like other models, this concept is drawn following the company's “Powerful Elegance” design philosophy. As Infiniti's representatives present this idea, the QX Sport Inspiration is a “statement of intent,” which demonstrates the design department's capabilities in the segment, as well as the possibilities of their design language.
The concept has four main elements which will likely be the inspiration for future SUVs and crossovers from the brand. The QX Sport comes with a new front end, distinctive body-side surfacing, a crescent-cut rear pillar, and a striking back.
The front end features flared wheel arches, a double-arch grille, and a set of headlamps inspired by human eyes. The latter flow around the hood, and have an LED light signature. The body-side surfacing which Infiniti describes as a base for the profile of the vehicle refers to sculpted doors and fenders, which have lines that meet in a fashionable way. The design elements are unusual for an SUV, but remember this is a concept, and you may not see these lines on production cars.
The rear pillar ornament of the Infiniti QX Sport Inspiration comes with the already traditional shape around the window line, and the chromed element - with a polished aluminum look, comes with a reduced size. The trim looks fresh and helps identify the concept as an Infiniti model.
Meanwhile, the rear end of this car is as expressive as the front. The idea of sleek lighting elements proceeded to the back end, and designers did a good job at obtaining a proper stance, which makes us think of compelling lines.
Overall, Infiniti's latest concept does not look that far from production. If you take away the side mirrors and fit a set of standard one, scale down the wheels, and apply mild changes to the lines on the profile, the QX Sport Inspiration would be ready to hit dealerships.
Naturally, the futuristic interior will not come to production, but a few shapes and lines shown by this concept are bound to inspire future passenger compartments made by this brand.
