Infiniti Reveals New Models and Upgrades for 2011

The North American arm of luxury carmaker Infiniti announced today the initial details regarding its 2011 model year lineup, which apparently comes with the addition of two new models, as well as various upgrades across the range. The two new models scheduled to debut next year are the Infiniti M sedan and the QX full-size SUV.

On the other hand, enhancements brought to the existing models include a new 7-speed automatic transmission that replaces the 5-speed auto on the EX crossover, revised package contents and equipment features, as well as new color options.

Taken separately, the 2011 Infiniti QX will come in two fully equipped models, namely QX56 2WD and QX56 4WD, and is already on sale in the US now. The Infiniti M is also available now and comes with enhanced power and fuel economy, as well as new safety and infotainment technologies.

For 2011, the Infiniti EX35 comes with a new standard 7-speed automatic transmission, three new exterior colors and the availability of Infiniti's advanced Blind Spot Warning (BSW) system, as well as a redesigned instrument panel, among others. The EX is available on four models: EX35 RWD, EX35 AWD, EX35 RWD Journey and EX35 AWD Journey and is scheduled to go on sale in October 2010.

Aside from styling and safety tech enhancements, the 2011 Infiniti FX will be available in three models: FX50 AWD with 5.0-liter V8, FX35 AWD with 3.5-liter V6 and FX35 RWD with 3.5-liter V6. The model goes on sale in October 2010.

Finally, the Japanese carmaker also revealed it will add two new models to the G line, with complete details to be announced at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance this August.
