Infiniti QX80 Gets the Larte Design Treatment

Russian-based tuner Larte Design has had its eyes on plenty of Infiniti products recently. Despite applying its unique styling treatment to vehicles like the Range Rover Evoque and Mercedes-Benz GL, Nissan’s luxury brand seems to be Larte’s vehicle of choice with packages available for the Q70, QX60, QX70 and now Infiniti’s flagship SUV, the QX80.

As we’ve seen from past body kits from Larte, the styling on QX80 is even more imposing and over-the-top than the stock design, but it somehow make the QX80’s nose seem less bulbous. The aggressive lower fascia has a look we’ve come to expect from a Brabus-tuned Mercedes with larger air intakes and four circular running lights. The pièce de résistance for the Larte-tuned QX80 is the matte-black grille with its V-shaped slats and centrally positioned Larte logo. As if the fender vents of the stock QX80 didn’t already look out of place, Larte Design has incorporated a couple of air inlets just above the headlights, which Larte says actually helps provided additional air flow to the engine. We’re sure if the vehicle weren’t painted black, these air intakes would give the SUV an angry-looking scowl.

The rest of the Larte exterior styling changes include a stainless steel exhaust system finished off with four black-chrome, 3.9-inch outlets at the rear and a big set of matte-black, five-spoke wheels. Matching the styling changes made to the exterior, Larte went to work on the QX80’s cabin providing a flashier appearance with a steering wheel wrapped with a mix of black leather and brown Alcantara and teak wood accents trimmed with brushed metal used on the door sills, trunk area and, yes, even the floor mats.

There are no engine upgrades for the QX80’s 5.6-liter V-8, which means that its output will remain at 400 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque. Larte has not released the pricing for the QX80 tuning kit, but it sounds like U.S. customers will be able to add a Larte tuning kit to their QX80 and presumably their 2011 to 2013 Infiniti QX56.
