Infiniti Q60 Concept Teases the Two-Door Coupe Variant of the Q50 Sedan

Back at the 2013 North American Auto Show, the Japanese brand presented us with the 2014 Q50, the model which replaces the fourth generation G sedan, which is now called Q60 sedan. Infiniti also decided to rename the donkey old fourth-gen G sedan to Q40, with 2015 to be its final year of production.

Considering it’s been manufactured since 2006, the Q40 / G sedan is due a replacement pretty soon. As for the G coupe, Infiniti renamed the old G37 coupe Q60 coupe, but what you can see in the teaser pic above is, more or less, the shape of things to come.

To be displayed by Nissan’s upmarket division at the 2015 North American Auto Show in Detroit Motor City in January, the so-called Q60 Concept seems to wear a quarter of five-spoke alloy wheels and mirrors so small they certainly won’t enter production.

From the black & white and shadowy teaser photo we can tell that the bonnet design is shared with the Q50 sedan. The C-pillar is also pretty similar to that of its mass-produced sibling, but the Q60 Concept sports a sharper, more elongated rear quarter window kink. Everything else appears to be pure fantasy.

The windscreen is also dramatically more raked than what the Q50 sedan boasts with, but don’t hold your breath for significant visual differences between the Q50 and yet-to-be-launched Q60. As for the muscular shoulder lines, especially at the rear, the Infiniti Q60 Concept resembles the Q80 Concept.
