This latest Infiniti commercial really got us worked up, for all the wrong reasons. The clip uses negative publicity and bluntly says the Q50 is a better car than the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class.
First things first, the fine print of the video says Infiniti is comparing the Q50 Hybrid fuel economy to its rivals without taking the diesel models into account. How is that fair?
Secondly, how can Infiniti be so proud of its "car of the future" when the Q50 doesn't even have a single turbo engine yet. A 3.5-liter V6? Wow, that's so modern, you never got that in a Nissan… 10 years ago.
Last but not least, there's the small matter of that partnership with Mercedes, who's giving them plenty of tech for the Q50. When the Q30 comes out, are they going to say it's so much better than the A-Class it's based on? If we were Mercedes, we'd have a little talk with them about their biased commercials.
