Infiniti is preparing a new mid-size premium crossover, and they have published a teaser image of the concept that previews it.
Infiniti will exhibit their latest concept at this year’s Beijing Auto Show, and the concept vehicle is named QX Sport Inspiration. The Japanese premium automaker has specified that the new exhibit follows their new “Powerful Elegance” design language, which will be the heart of the brand in the years to come.

Along with announcing the name of the new concept, Infiniti also published a teaser photo of their upcoming SUV. It showcases the oversized grill, which is becoming a stronger design trend by the year, and thin headlamps with LEDs.

The concept appears to have a short front overhang, but this might be an optical illusion caused by the front bumper’s aggressive design. The latter also includes a massive air vent, which could be used to increase aerodynamic features on this SUV.

Infiniti’s latest grille design blends in with the prolonged U-shaped LED headlamps. These elements might not reach production in the form you see them on this concept car, but we suspect the shape of the front grille will be implemented in production models, as will the lines on the hood. We also believe that the form of the LED headlamps will inspire the units of the series production cars, but it will end up being a strip of light in a bigger ensemble.

The 2016 Beijing Auto Show is scheduled for April 26, and then we will see this exhibit in all of its glory. Most likely, the first model of the Infiniti lineup that will be inspired by this concept car will be the replacement of the contemporary QX70. While the model was recently improved, its platform is rather old.

As with other concept vehicles, do not expect all of the features shown on this exhibit to be implemented on the production cars inspired by them. The idea of presenting these pictures is to stimulate viewer imagination and give us a taste of what shapes designers will use for upcoming production cars.
